I'm wanting to have this in my garden in NZ.
Hopefully someone can help me.

I imagine the kapok would be very hard to find in NZ and wouldn’t be confident about it doing well being a big tropical tree. VERY big. Huge buttress roots. Maybe it would survive in a protected Northland location, and only grow small and slow but there would still be questions over whether it would ever flower and fruit. It might be best to look at something else.
