summer slaking for golden penda

One of Queensland's tropical glories is proving Sydney's better than average rainfall this summer. It's the best flowering of Golden Penda (Xanthostemon chrysanthus) I've noticed here where its limits are tested and seasonal conditions can make a real difference. The acid-gold flowers are another of our myrtles that are all stamens and sweet nectar. Show-stopping but messy if there's a target like a parked car below.

I always plant a less appealing plant that is attractive to snails next to a more valuable plant. No snail bait needed.

Palmetto

Palmetto Soft Leaf Buffalo is ideally suited as a lawn in many applications.
